This Ernst H Roth violin is dated 1956. Beautiful wood and craftsmanship and a sonorous tone. The violin is both labeled and fire branded to the back. Nicks on the front consistent with age. There is one expertly repaired table crack on the treble side.

The Roth family has been making instruments since 1873 and continue to this day. The very best Roth violins are generally considered to be those made before 1930. Yet the 1950’s yielded some very fine instruments as well.
